Critical Incident Stress Management & Debriefing (CISMD).
CISMD sessions are best utilised immediately after or as soon as possible (within 7 days) a traumatic incident that affects the school community or workplace. It is a group session conducted over a 90minute-120minute period that is reflective and well structured. It allows for teachers, students, work colleagues to process facts,feelings and future actions after a highly stressful incident. Examples of incidents that we have worked with in the past include:
Unexpected death / injury to a child. Sessions were utilised for student classes directly affected by the loss of the child and another CISMD session was offered to teachers
Onset of overseas conflict & war that affects a particular community in Australia
